Hans Järlind (Peru & Sweden)
Mr. Hans Järlind is one of two owners of the Amazon Superfoods & Consultancy Company. He has dual citizenship, Peruvian & Swedish, and lives in Iquitos, Peru. He has a Master´s degree in Forestry (Jägmästare) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education. Hans has worked more than 35 years with forestry & environmental development aid projects in several countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. He came to Iquitos in 2004 to assist the Peruvian government to establish a new national biodiversity park along one of the tributaries of the Amazon River. The project was funded by the Finnish government and based at the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP- Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonía Peruana). At IIAP he was primarily involved in developing and implementing sustainable management plans for the natural forest resources in the above mentioned national biodiversity park in close cooperation with the indigenous communities living in that area. When the contract ended Hans decided to remain in the Amazon and make Iquitos his home.
Hans also offers consultancy services in fields such as; reforestation of tropical forests with precious indigenous species; participatory community-based natural resource management (CBNRM); forestry & environmental training & education programs; development & implementation of REDD+, climate change/carbon sequestration & agroforestry projects.

Per Örnell (Sweden)
Mr. Per Örnell, a native of Sweden, has academic degrees in Economics and Psychology/Behavioural Science from the universities of Linköping and Stockholm. Throughout his long and successful professional career he has provided valuable consultancy services in the fields of executive level management and leadership skills for several prestigious and multi-million dollar companies in the Swedish and Finnish forestry sectors. He is an expert in management structures and organizational behaviour within large companies. Per serves as a consultant for the Amazon Superfoods & Consultancy Company of which he is a co-owner. As an early and principal investor in the company, Per has a deep concern for the wellbeing of the Amazon Rainforest, and its people, and is dedicated to the success of the short and long-term goals of the company.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide healthy, nutritious, delicious and life-enhancing Superfoods from the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest for the entire world with no one excluded. Our products are cultivated and harvested deep in the jungle, permitting access to some of the most nutritious and delicious Superfoods on the planet. With this tremendous advantage, we strive to set new standards for levels of quality, traceability, product research & development. Our products are cultivated and harvested by local and indigenous communities living in a natural, chemical free and organic rainforest environment. Our win-win, benefit-sharing collaboration with these independent communities provides sustainable livelihoods to many indigenous families and empowers them to manage their own forest resources as only they know best. The Company assists them with technical support and access to international markets. Customers, buying the products, are thereby helping to protect the unique but threatened biological and ethnocultural diversity of fragile and intricate Amazon Rainforest ecosystems.

Additionally, our vision is to work and contribute towards attracting international humanitarian aid also to other vulnerable communities living in the rainforest and in other poor rural & urban areas, for schooling as well as for health-related and socio-economic projects, aimed at achieving a better quality of life for identified target groups.
Our Services
Our services are to facilitate sustainable harvesting, processing and marketing of 47 selected organic medicinal food plants growing in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. Products of these edible plants are called “Superfoods” due to their exceptionally high content of antioxidants, proteins, minerals, vitamins, essential omega oils and dietary fibers not found anywhere else on Planet Earth. To achieve the objectives of the Company we cooperate with involved local and indigenous communities to guarantee export quality in order to sell the Superfood products on international markets. The wellbeing and prosperity of the participating communities is of utmost importance for the Company in order to respectfully maintain long-term mutual benefits.
Furthermore, the Amazon Superfoods & Consultancy Company is offering consultancy services for the management of integrated rural development (IRD) projects, such as; village agroforestry systems; environmental protection; eco-tourism; fish, wildlife & watershed management and; sustainable harvesting & utilization of non-timber forest products (NTFP).
